oh the jewelry...

hello world!
this is my first post. i'm kind of new at this sort of thing, but it seemed like a neat idea, so here i am. to start off with, i love fashion. i truly do. whenever i'm in a crappy mood, just reading vogue or trying on my clothes makes me feel better. I also love music. Fashion and music go so nicely together. My current obsession is Tilly and the Wall. Their lyrics are so true and raw. (you'll hear me quote them occasionally) Mika is a new favorite also, the beat is too good to resist dancing. but enough about music, this is a blog about fashion, so let us talk about fashion.

one of my favorite things to do is go antique shopping. This is quite tricky though, because you run the risk of buying clothes too much out of date, you don't want to look like you're in a historical play. on the other hand, if you hunt hard enough, (and find a good location) there are endless possibilities. Recently i went to an antique fair with over 100 vendors. This outing proved very successful. i bought a life mag circa 66 covering new Paris fashions in new york. The cover is YSL's pop art inspired collection of '66. i had to get it. next the jewelry. oh the jewelry! i bought two shimmering shoe buckles that will clip nicely on a ribbon, for a makeshift headband. and then there is the dress. its beautiful. from the rib cage up its black velvet. the straps are about an inch thick. The neck line is squared, around the collarbones. from ribcage down to above the knee is mustard yellow brocade material. it fits like a dream. its so Carrie Bradshaw! pictures are to come.

so this concludes my first blog entry, hope you enjoyed!
